After a long summer, the first day of the 2020-2021 school year is finally here. We are excited about all that this new year has to offer. While will be working in a virtual setting this semester we will still be engaged in world class teaching and learning. We are Committed to Excellence!

Students check to ensure that your laptop is fully charged, that you can log in, and that you are able to navigate the Class Link, It’s Learning, and Microsoft Teams applications. For assistance with technical issues, application support, and information related to virtual learning please check our website and the virtual learning tab https://rchs.rockdaleschools.org/virtual_learning.

 August 24th 1st Day of School.

Students will log into their classes on the It’sLearning platform and connect to live sessions using Microsoft Teams.

 

To begin classes

Login to the laptop using your Username and Password.

 

Your Username is: 9 + First initial of first name + full last name (some may have a # at the end)@students.rockdale.k12.ga.us. If your name was “Example  Student,” then your username would be 9estudent@rockdale.k12.ga.us or 9estudent#@rockdale.k12.ga.us.

 

Your Password is: 9+ first initial of first name + first initial of last name + last 5 digits of your student ID#. So the password for “Example Student,” would be 9es00000.

 

Once you login to the laptop then follow these steps:

STEP 1: Log into CLASSLINK

 

STEP 2: In CLASSLINK, click the itsLearning icon.

 

STEP3: Click on your first course that matches your schedule

 

STEP 4: Login to Microsoft Teams. Make sure that you do NOT login as a guest, you must use your Rockdale County credentials. Watch this Video to see how to Login to Microsoft Teams

8:30 A.M. – 9:40 A.M.               1st Block

9:40 A.M. – 9:50 A.M.               Break

9:50 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.             2nd Block

11:00 A.M.  – 12:00 P.M.         Lunch

12:00 P.M. – 1:10 P.M.             3rd Block

1:10 P.M. – 1:20 P.M.                Break

1:20 P.M. – 2:30 P.M.                4th Block

2:30 P.M. – 3:05 P.M.                Student Check In & Small Groups

A Days are Mondays and Wednesdays, B Days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fridays are reserved for enrichment, remediation, and social and emotional learning sessions.

August 28th:     10th Grade – 12th Grade No-Contact Textbook Pickup (Specific Courses)

Last Name E-H 10:00-10:40 am                                  Last Name A-D 10:40-11:20 am

Last Name M-P 11:20-12:00 pm                                 Last Name I-L 12:00-12:40 pm

Last Name U-Z 12:40-1:20 pm                                    Last Name Q-T 1:20-2:00 pm

Students in specific courses that do not have digital textbooks will be able to pick up copies of those books and other needed resources. 

Directions:

•  Arrive during your assigned time. Follow signs to line up in the driveway between the technology and main buildings.

• Do not leave your vehicle during pick-up. No students or family members will be permitted to exit their vehicle or congregate with others. This will be strictly enforced for the safety of all.

• Write your full name (last name, first name) and grade on a piece of paper in bold marker and place the sign where it is visible through your vehicle’s windshield.

• School personnel will come to the window of the car to read the name of the student. Do not roll down your windows.

• When directed, remotely pop the trunk or hatch (preferred) or unlock the back door. School personnel will place your books in the trunk or back seat.

 

Note: Schedule change requests previously submitted are bring processed. Schedule change request forms can be obtained from our website or by clicking Here. The last day to submit this form is Thursday, September 3rd. It is critical that you take your time reading and filling this out.  Please note that changes will only be made for the following reasons: Incorrect level or duplicate course (passed previously), and missing a period (ex. No 2nd period, two 3rd periods).
